Smart Watch
Hi, guys today I am going to share with you guys what I know about a brilliant Technology - Smart Watches.
Before talking about Smartwatches let me refresh your memory by providing you with some information about our history.
The first electromechanical computer was developed back in 1938 by the U.S Navy. It was Zuse Z3 the first fully automatic
digital computer. Similar models were developed by different countries during that time especially during the Second World War.
Z3 operated with a clock frequency of 5 to 10 Hz, 22-bit word length and it was built with 2600 relays. And its weight was
about 1000 Kg’s, so you can imagine its size and how much space it occupied.
I just explained to you how big and heavy the computer was back then and how slow it was compared to the devices we use now.
Over the years the computer has changed in its appearance as well as in its use and operational speed also.
If someone from present time was able to travel back in time to the year 1938 when Zuse Z3 was developed and to tell the
U.S. Navy that in the future that there will be wearable lightweight super speed smart computers as jewelry, and we can talk
to the computer also they will go nuts! And slap the living soul outta him (J.K).

SmartWatch - Features
A smartwatch is a wristwatch with a touch screen display or it can be defined as a wearable computer. It can perform functions
such as calculations, displaying digital time, playing videos to most of the functions of smartphones and computers.
They come with a Bluetooth/ WiFi connectivity. Most of the smartwatches that are available in the market have LED o LCD
visual display. To consume less power transflective electronic paper is used and the rechargeable Lithium-ion battery is
generally used. Peripheral devices such as SD cards, accelerometers, heart rate monitors, GPS receivers can be used with it.
Software includes digital maps, schedulers, and personal organizers, calculators, and various kinds of watch faces.
Like computers, a smartwatch collects information from internal or external sensors and it may control, or retrieve data from,
other instruments. Smartwatch supports wireless technologies such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS. Day by day
Smartwatches are advancing in their design, battery capacity and other features like health-related applications.
Smartwatches have become a trend among youngsters and fitness enthusiasts. A survey conducted by Rakuten Insight
in August 2019 found out that around 31 percent of Indians aged between 25 and 34 years old owned a smartwatch.
Smartwatches were the preferred wearable over other devices among all age groups. Smartwatches are available across
a wide price spectrum ranging from $30 to $100,00 and above. The most expensive smartwatch that I know is TAG Heuer Connected Modular, it comes at a price of $180,000 because it is made of white gold and diamonds!.
SmartWatch - Business Applications
Smartwatches run a mobile operating system. Smartwatches allow you to integrate apps and extend the usage of all of
your smart devices. Users can specify how they want to receive their business and personal communications, from all calls
and emails, to select parties, to none. Whether you need to know everything in real-time or need a short break from the world,
the features of smartwatches lets you prioritize your communications. All of your appointments and alerts can be forwarded
to your Smartwatch, ensuring that you never miss your meetings and appointments. Smartwatches with cameras lets you
translate text with the Google Translate app. Microsoft’s translation app lets you translate a phrase from English to specified
languages by simply by taking an image of the text and uploading it to the app.
The Apple Pay feature in Apple Smartwatches lets you pay your bill with a tap. Your business credit card information can be
stored and used without opening a wallet anywhere anytime. The simple At Work app manages your working hours with a tap,
and records when you begin and end work. Tracks hours that may be paid separately, for different clients or at different
hourly rates. It helps you figure out your working hours over the month, calculate overtime and add in other work events.
The fitness, health functions/Apps in smartwatches provide reminders, incentives, and tracking status to get people moving.
Thus reduces stress, increases focus and improves work performance.
A smartwatch offers a lot when it comes to convenience and connectivity. For some, it strikes the right balance between using
other devices less while not missing any notifications or important calls. Such a tiny device like smartwatches won’t replace
the convenience of using smartphones and computers. But in the end, it is useful in other ways. For example, you can make a
quick look at your wrist to find out your scheduled programs while you're stuck in a meeting. And some Smartwatches makes
it easy to reply with a preprogrammed phrase while you're preoccupied. While it may not be the most polite way to keep in touch,
but the option is there when you need it. So my answer to the question Is it worth buying Smartwatch? Would be YES!!!.
Hey let’s face the facts you are in a busy world, so if that device eases your day then it’s worth to have one.
